Narrated by legendary actor John Sessions this brand new 10 part radio series is based on our much-loved Adventures of Captain Bobo books for children 4-8.

Characters and storylines are (loosely) inspired by the adventures of Kay’s father (see and the iconic PS Waverley – ‘the world’s last ocean-going paddle steamer’.

The series follows the Captain and his crew around Britain, from The Outer Hebrides to London, via Barra, the Clyde, Liverpool, North Wales and Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.

No matter the challenges – shipwrecks, storms, hordes of marauding sheep, or even the occasional stray elephant – the cast of comic characters always manage to save the day!

Families and children can follow the antics of Captain Bobo; First Officer Sheila MacSween; Billy the cabin boy; Emma the apprentice engineer; harbour master Mr Singh, Bleep, Boing Boing and Salty, the captain’s faithful wee Scottie dog in a fun-filled adventure throughout the autumn.

How to listen:

The episodes will be broadcast nationally on Fun Kids DAB service weekly from Thursday September 24th at 15.15pm (repeated Saturday 11.30am).
